Noel Grünbaum – Game Designer

Hello, I am Noel Grünbaum. I’m looking for a junior position as a Game Designer.

I have been playing and developing games for as long as I can remember. In 2020 I started working on it seriously as I enrolled in the game design course at Media Gymnasiet (now named Nacka Strands Gymnasium).

Right after I graduated I started studying at Futuregames in Stockholm as a game designer with a specialization in Level Design.

Although junior, I am dedicated, always curious and aiming to create great games.

Experience:

  • Engines: Unreal Engine 4 & 5, Unity, Game Maker Studio 2
  • Other: GitHub, Perforce
  • Some experience with programming as well as 3D workflow
  • Schooled in methods through Futuregames (Stockholm), and Media Gymnasiet game design

I like a lot of different kinds of games but these are my favorite ones, in no particular order:

  • Minecraft for being such a central part of getting me into games and teaching me about building virtual worlds.
  • Disco Elysium for it’s writing, and sound design.
  • Limbo and Inside for their aesthetics and super polished level design.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 for it’s intricately crafted world and storytelling.
  • Owlboy for it’s music, development history and significance to me, to the point of getting a hand crafted Owlboy necklace.
